This project is designed to address needs with regard to food security and livelihood of protracted IDPs in gathering accessible locations in South Darfur State, namely: Abu Ajura,  Assafia and Tiwal in El salam locality and Sakale IDPs camps, Rahad Tono, Amar Jadid, Karare and El Siref IDPs camp in Nyala locality.  Provision of agricultural seeds and tool distribution, livestock support and IGA to 18,702 conflict- affected households (93,510 beneficiaries : Men 19,383, women 39,839, boys: 15,173 and girls 19,115) composed by 48,700 IDPs (HH 9,740), 29,870 returnees (HH 5,974) and host communities  14,940 (HH 2,988).
The target of this project is to address FSL needs through provision of agricultural inputs: seeds and tools distribution to 6000 HH farmers and provision of 10,550 HH community-based livestock inputs including vaccination and treatment to 100,000 heads of livestock belonging to HH  semi-pastorals in the two localities to reduce animal morbidity and mortality rate through conducting refresh training to 45 CAHWs  on diseases protection, outbreak methods and control to diminish the risk of  communicable animal diseases which occur during the movement of livestock looking for grazing and water. The Community animal health workers play an important role on reporting on outbreak and different livestock concern like water resources in these localities.
Livestock activities include: 200,000 doses of animal vaccines such as: Anthrax, HS, DQ and 45 CAHW kits, vet drug will be given to CAHWs for animal treatment.
For farmers agricultural input will be provided improved seeds : Sorghum (5 kg per HH), millet ( 3.5 kg per HH) to 6000 HH, ground nut (7 kg per HH with shell)  to 4000 HH a total of 510 tons of cereal and 300 tons of groundnut to 4000 vulnerable HH. Vegetable for rainy season will distributed to 1000 HH who plant such production: Watermelon (15 g per HH), Cucumber (20 g per HH) and Okra (30 g per HH) in addition to provision of hand tools (hoe) to selected 1,500 HH most vulnerable among the beneficiaries. These activities aim to ensure self reliance and will focus in particular on women who are the most involved in farming in the area of the project. 100 women will be targeted with extension training and recommended agricultural practice for increased production per yield and to enable the target community to withstand with the current crises and improve resilience.
(VSLa) activities will be undertaken through foundation of 120 women groups associated in 25 women per group, 3000 women HH will be involve in VSL which lead them to develop their skill in managing their home economy and link them to saving institutions at last. 120 VSL kits composed of 120 boxes (treasure) 3000 note books, 3000 pen will be distributed when the groups are formed to create self-employment and increase their income. The 120 women who represent 600 households will be provided with small stock of goats (1,800 heads) be distributed 2 female and 1 male per household to increase their capacity to sustain the VSL group and to build their small business management and provision of start-up packages whilst mainstreaming gender and protection.  To contribute to women empowerment, 100 women will be trained in efficiency stove training and get kits for production to decrease fire firewood consumption to gain the lime of firewood collection  and women exposure to abuse and SGBV in remote areas this activity promote environment conservation as result of reduced of firewood collection.
200 youth both girls and boys are targeted for training in SSB (stabilized soil blocks) and provided with 5 hand press machines for training and marketing this activity will facilitate and enhance environment friendly construction of settlement of the returnees.
All these activities will be conducted with technical support of the line Ministries at the State level of South Darfur.
