Our Organization Background

Great Family Organization (GFO), is a national, non-profit Organization, founded in January 2006 at HAC South Darfur State as a local CBOs and Registered as a NNGO in 2018 determined to provide services to those people affected by conflicts and disaster and to advocate for protection of vulnerable population peace and trust building among IDPs/returnees and host communities.

Provision of humanitarian support to vulnerable through the participatory approach and with dignity.
Mission
GFO as a non-governmental organization dealing with emergency interventions as well as recovery and development through peace building and reconciliation. Building capacity to product self- livelihood is the short way to recover and save life those who are in conflict.

GREAT FAMILY: To upholds humanitarian principles, norms, values, and collaborates with partners to advance strategic directives and guiding principles, including:
- Inclusion of Special Needs Groups: we prioritize children, women, and elderly non-combatants, ensuring their needs are addressed through appropriate modalities.
- Flexible, Diverse Implementation: we employ varied modalities in type, scope, and geography to adapt to changing environments; this includes bilateral/multilateral negotiations, multiple management approaches, cross-cutting issues, and strong community participation.
- Coordination and Collaboration: we work with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation, sustainability, and continuity.
- Non-discrimination: we treat all people with dignity regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, culture, religion, or tribal identity, and we emphasize community-led planning and implementation (participation).

- Adaptive Flexibility: we respond to volatile post-conflict contexts, including timing and location of vocational training, without pressuring participants to choose between education and skills development.
