PSEA Awareness Raising Workshop
On 02/July 2025, GFO conducted PSEA workshop to raise awareness about the concepts of sexual exploitation and abuse. The workshop was attended by 36 participants, including 18 staff members from the Great Family Organization (GFO) and other 18 stakeholders including the community leader of the newly IDPs camps in Nyala, social workers from ministry of Social Welfares, and local authorities humanitarian coordinators.
The Workshop was facilitated by Dr. Khalifa Mohammed Adam , from Nyala University of Nyala, peace and research studies center. The workshop included the following objectives and topics:
Objectives:
- Raising awareness among the GFO staff and partners about the basic concepts of sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Steps to be taken to prevent or mitigate sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Highlighting the causes and potential consequences of sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Raising the awareness of stakeholders about PSEA reporting mechanisms.
- Ensuring that participants understand the risks of sexual exploitation and abuse in the context of their humanitarian work.
